About
Alessandro Stigliano (1991) is a Swedish-Italian director born and raised in Tuscany. He is currently based in Malmö (Sweden) where he is developing his debut feature film you, long awaited, a thriller about child-longing.
He just finished the short film god mor which premiered at Göteborgs Film Festival 2026, and is co-produced with SVT. The film was pitched in Grimstad at the Screen Talent Europe Pitching Forum 2023, where Alessandro was selected as one of 10 emerging north-European filmmakers.
His zero-budget short kakor, a dark comedy about frustrations of modern work-life balance and the pressures of parenthood, was screened at festivals like Clermont Ferrand 2024 and Melbourne International Film Festival 2024.
Across his films, Stigliano explores how intimate desires clash with social expectations, leaning on genre and dark humor to explore the moral tensions hidden in everyday life.
